Postby roman66 » Fri 12. Jul 2024 10:00:48

Hi,

If default name of communication group is changed - like /Communication/S7/line1_S7_1200/Comm/Group1 -> /Communication/S7/line1_S7_1200/Comm/sek1
- the group name is not automatically change in DATA -> PmaDATA - Data extention- communication

Hello,
If you rename an object in the PROMOTIC system (Pma object, Pmg object, but also e.g. the PmVar object) you must manually change all references to this object that are present in the application.
So you have to manually change the path to this object in scripts, in data extensions, in trend, alarm, event viewers, etc. No reference is changed automatically.
Some incorrect references can be detected if you run the Application Consistency Test in the development environment, but even that will not find incorrect references in scripts, for example.

Hi,
then I have a suggestion for "Communication" group item:
- set the option to change the default name for the "Communication Group" when a new "Communication" item is creating. It's saves time..

Thank you.

Hello,
thank you for the idea. Such a change is not easy to implement, so it will not be included in the PROMOTIC 9.0 series anymore, but in the 9.1 series we could improve the preconfigurations where more Pma objects are created at the same time.
