Communication by the DNP3 protocol

Distributed Network Protocol 3 (DNP3) is a set of communication protocols used between components in process automation systems.
Its main use is in utility networks of companies involved in electricity or water distribution.
It was developed for communication between various types of data acquisition and control equipment.
Competing standards include the older Modbus protocol and the newer IEC 61850 protocol.

This driver is used for communication via Ethernet.

Communication by OPC server

For communication of the PROMOTIC application by the DNP3 protocol the OPC servers delivered by third parties can be used.
