Communication with PLC devices by the Elsaco company (Czechia)

The
Elsaco company delivers PLC devices and
PROMOS (
PROMOS line 2) units. It is possible to communicate with these devices via the computer's serial port
RS485 by several protocols:
Communication by the Modbus protocol
Modbus is a standard, very often used protocol for Ethernet-client and for serial link.
For this communication in the PROMOTIC system can be used:
The SAM protocol (ASCII)
Very simple protocol (like the building set
ADAM) that allows to address more units on the common bus. It is used usually at simple devices that don't require the fast transmission of greater volume of data.
For this communication in the PROMOTIC system can be used:
The standard industrial protocol. It can be used the
OPC server from various suppliers for this protocol.
Then the PROMOTIC application will communicate as a client by the
OPC interface.
OPC server by the ELSACO company
The
ELSACO company, the PLC manufacturer, also provides the
OPC server for communication with these PLCs.
Then the PROMOTIC application will communicate as a client by the
OPC interface.
