The
Moeller PLC devices can communicate:
- by the SUCOMA protocol: serial link, point-to-point connection, the protocol is supported on the programming port at all Moeller devices.
- by the SUCONET protocol: serial link, Master x Slave connection, in the Moeller devices the network card with the SUCONET support is necessary.
- in the Ethernet TCP/IP network: over the CoBox HW converter.
- over the phone modem: by the SUCOMA protocol
For communication of the PROMOTIC application with
Moeller PLC devices the following
communication drivers can be used:
1. OPC server
For communication of the PROMOTIC application with
Moeller PLC devices the
OPC server can be used that is protected by the HW Key.
The
OPC server can communicate with
Moeller PLC devices:
- via the computer's serial port (by the SUCOMA protocol).
- over the phone modem.
- by the Ethernet TCP/IP protocol (by means of the CoBox HW converter).
The communication in the Ethernet network can be implemented by means of the
CoBox HW converter - for conversion of the serial
SUCOMA protocol to the
Ethernet TCP/IP protocol. For more information - see the technical support.
Trade terms:
The usage
OPC (the
PmOpcUaClient communication driver or
PmaOpcDaClient object) requires purchase of the
"PmOPC" licence. When developing the application in the freeware mode
PmFree, or with
development environment and while testing it in runtime, this component is always functional.
2. DDE server - obsolete method
The
DDE server supports the communication by the
SUCOMA and
SUCONET protocols. It goes about the serial communication.
The
DDE server can be set as a
Master (the most used solution) or a
Slave.
Caution: The
DDE server can communicate only over
one communication
port on the computer (it is possible to choose
COM1 or
COM2).
